Account, plans, and projects
Your sign-in, plan and credits, app updates, crash reporting, and the projects on this machine.

The Account panel holds everything about you rather than about one project: your sign-in, your plan and credits, app updates, crash reporting, and the list of projects on this machine.
Where to find it
Select Account in the sidebar, or press Ctrl+0. The panel has 2 tabs, Account and Projects. Ctrl+P opens the Projects tab directly.
The app needs a signed-in account to open. When no one is signed in, it shows the sign-in screen instead of the main window.
Plans and credits
Vibeless sells plans by credit budget and project count. Every paid plan has exactly the same features. A credit is the unit Vibeless uses to meter LLM usage, and each LLM request uses credits based on its size.
| Plan | Price | Credits | Active projects |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | None (no LLM features) | 1 |
| Basic | $9.99/mo (annual $101.88) | 500 per month | 5 |
| Pro | $29.99/mo (annual $305.88) | 2,000 per month | Unlimited |
| Developer | $59.99/mo (annual $611.88) | 4,500 per month | Unlimited |
| Team Starter | $29.99/seat/mo | 1,500 per seat per month, pooled | Unlimited |
| Team Max | $79.99/seat/mo | 6,000 per seat per month, pooled | Unlimited |
On team plans the credits form one pool for the organization: seats multiplied by the per-seat figure. The app's Organization panel labels these 2 plans Team Basic and Team Pro.
Every paid plan comes with a 7-day free trial. The trial gives you the plan's full monthly credit budget. If the trial ends without a subscription, the account returns to Free.
Credits reset every month, including on annual plans. An annual plan resets on the same day of the month that the subscription started. When that day does not exist in a month, the reset falls on the last day of that month.
What uses credits
These features call an LLM and need a paid plan:
- Vibe Coder, including codebase analysis for an existing project.
- The Architecture helper in the Spec Editor.
- Generate from Architecture in the Phase Planner.
- Gap filling during import, and Derive Enforcement.
- VC Copilot.
Everything else is free on every plan: specs, phases, tickets, decisions, drift checks, the MCP server and all its agent tools, hooks, search, and import without gap filling. When your credits run out, LLM requests are refused until the monthly reset. Nothing else stops working.
The Account tab
Account Details
This card shows your email address and a badge with your plan name. The badge shows the plan's internal name, for example basic or team_basic for Team Starter.
Below it, a meter shows your credits for the current period: credits used, the total budget, and the percentage used. The bar changes color once you pass 80%. The card does not show the reset date. The Dashboard also shows credits used, and Vibe Coder shows credits left. On a team plan, Vibe Coder labels the figure "team pool" when it comes from the organization's pool.
The Logout button signs you out (see below).
The app refreshes your plan and credit figures in the background every 5 minutes.
Past-due payments
If your last payment failed, the badge Payment Past Due appears next to your plan name. A banner also appears across the top of the app: "Your last payment didn't go through. Update your payment method to keep your plan active." Your plan keeps working while the billing system retries the payment.
The banner's close button hides it until the app restarts. Update your payment method on the Vibeless website. The desktop app has no billing screen, and plan purchases and changes all happen on the website. Every Upgrade button in the app opens the pricing page in your browser.
About
This card shows the app version and the build it came from. Select Copy version + commit to copy both for a bug report. Beta builds also show a Cohort row. Production builds do not.
Software Updates
This card shows the installed version and a Check for updates button.
Vibeless also checks for updates on its own, about 20 seconds after launch and then every 24 hours. If a check fails, for example while you are offline, it tries again an hour later. When it finds a newer version, a banner appears: "Vibeless X.Y.Z is available." with 2 buttons:
- View opens this card, already showing the update. The banner stays hidden for the rest of the session.
- Later hides the banner for that version. A newer version brings the banner back.
The app never installs an update on its own. To install one:
- Open Account and find the Software Updates card.
- Read the release notes under the Update available line.
- Select Install & Restart, then Confirm & restart.
Vibeless downloads the update, then closes and reopens itself. If the update fails, the card shows the error and you can check again.
Crash reporting
This card has one switch, on by default. When it is on, Vibeless sends anonymous crash reports to its error tracker.
What is sent:
- The stack trace.
- Scrubbed breadcrumbs (warnings, errors, clicks, navigation, and network requests).
- Your OS and app version.
- A masked screen replay attached to the error. All text, inputs, and media are masked or blocked.
What is never sent: your IP address, your account identity, prompts, or source code. Your user name and home folder are removed from file paths before anything leaves your machine.
The switch takes effect immediately, with no restart. One exception applies. If you turn reporting back on while the app is running, screen replay resumes only after the next restart. If the app cannot save your choice to turn reporting off, it still turns reporting off for the rest of the session and tells you the setting was not saved.
The Projects tab
The Projects tab lists the projects you can see on this machine. The heading shows how many of them count against your plan's limit.
Open or switch a project
- Press Ctrl+P, or open Account and select Projects.
- Select a project in the list.
The project opens on the Dashboard. The open project is marked Active. You can also switch projects from the project switcher in the header.
Create a project
Select New Project at the top of the tab. If you have no projects yet, the tab shows Create your first project instead. Vibe Coder and import also create projects, and the same limit applies to them.
Delete a project
Deleting happens in the project itself, not in this list:
- Open the project and go to Dashboard, then the Settings tab.
- In Danger Zone, select Delete Project.
- Confirm with Delete Project.
Deletion removes the project and all its data, and it cannot be undone. The app then returns you to the Projects tab. See Dashboard for the rest of the Settings tab.
Organization projects
If you belong to an organization, a second section appears below your own projects. On a team plan it is titled Organization projects and lists the projects your organization has shared. Each row offers Open if the project is already on this machine, or Set up if you have access but have not set it up here yet. A row you have no access to shows its access status and no button. Manage in Organization takes you to the Organization panel, where you request and manage access.
If your organization is not on a team plan, the section shows an upgrade prompt instead. Without an organization, the section does not appear.
Project limits
The limit counts only projects you own that are not locked. Projects belonging to another account on this machine never count against yours. A new account on a shared machine starts at zero.
When you reach the limit:
- New Project is disabled. Hover over it to see your plan's limit.
- A banner appears: "Project limit reached", with how many of your projects are in use. It offers Manage projects and Upgrade plan.
- Agents that try to create a project through MCP get an error that tells them not to retry.
To make room, delete a project or upgrade.
Locked projects after a downgrade
If your plan changes to one that allows fewer projects than you have, Vibeless locks the extra projects. It never deletes them.
A full-screen dialog titled Choose the projects to keep active appears. It lists the projects you own, with the date each was last updated.
- Select exactly as many projects as your new plan allows.
- Select Confirm selection.
The dialog cannot be dismissed. To keep everything instead, select Keep everything — resubscribe, which opens the pricing page. The dialog appears only after the app has confirmed the new plan with the server. Being offline or signed out never starts it.
Locked projects keep all their data: specs, decisions, drift history, and file mappings. They appear greyed out in the Projects tab with a Locked badge, and the header switcher hides them. Agents cannot work on a locked project. While the selection is still pending, every agent tool call fails, on every project.
A lock lasts until you do one of these:
- Upgrade to a plan that covers all your projects. Everything unlocks automatically.
- Delete an active project to free a slot, then select Unlock on a locked one.
- Select Unlock whenever you are under your limit. The button is disabled while you are at the limit.
Who sees which projects
Each project records which account created it. When you are signed in, the Projects tab shows the projects you created plus any project created with no one signed in. Projects created with no one signed in have no owner. Every account that signs in on the same OS login sees them, and they never count against a signed-in account's limit.
This is a visibility curtain, not security. All project data sits in local files under your OS user profile, and anyone using that OS login can read them. For real separation between people, use separate OS user accounts.
Agents are not affected by who is signed in. Each project's MCP token keeps working when you sign out or switch accounts.
Signing out and switching accounts
Select Logout on the Account Details card. Vibeless removes your session from the OS keychain and clears its cached data, including any Vibe Coder conversation. It also closes the open project. The sign-in screen appears.
To switch accounts, sign out, then select Sign in with Vibeless and sign in as the other account. You can continue with GitHub, Google, or email on the next screen. The project list reloads for the new account. Projects the new account cannot see disappear from the list.
Two things carry over. If a plan refresh fails because of a network problem, the app keeps showing the last plan and credits it received. Project limits on this machine also follow the last plan the app confirmed, even while signed out, until the next successful refresh.
Deleting your account
Account deletion happens on the Vibeless website. The desktop app has no delete-account button.
Deletion is immediate, with no grace period. For 30 days afterward, Vibeless keeps a billing record for disputes only: your account id, a snapshot of your credit balance, and usage metadata from the last 62 days. It contains no prompts or project content, and it is purged after 30 days.
If something looks wrong
- New Project is disabled but you have room. Locked projects and other accounts' projects do not count, but the app may still hold an old plan. Wait up to 5 minutes for the plan refresh, or sign out and back in.
- The downgrade dialog appeared after you upgraded. The upgrade may not have reached the app yet. The dialog clears on the next plan refresh, within 5 minutes. If you confirm a selection after the server already has the upgrade, the app checks the plan again at once.
- A project disappeared after you switched accounts. The other account created it. Sign in as that account to see it again.
- The update banner never came back. You chose Later for that version. The Software Updates card still offers that version, so install it from there.
